Introduction to the Code of Conduct
Metos Storkök AB's code of conduct rests on the foundation of being a responsible employer with products and solutions that contribute to improving the daily lives of people in our world. The business shall be conducted with respect and consideration for human rights, human health and the environment. 
The Code of Conduct applies to all employees of Metos Storkök and all other representatives acting on behalf of the company. All employees are responsible for compliance with this Code of Conduct. As a manager at Metos Storkök, you are a role model and are expected to act and work in accordance with the Code of Conduct. As a manager, you must ensure that employees under your responsibility understand and follow the Code of Conduct. 
Metos Storkök has high expectations of our suppliers and other partners and therefore ensures that they comply with this code of conduct. 

Control and compliance
Management is responsible for informing employees of their rights, obligations and responsibilities under this Code of Conduct.
Upon request, the subcontractor must be able to provide documentation that demonstrates application in accordance with the Code of Conduct.

In case of non-compliance
Violation of this Code of Conduct may lead to disciplinary action. For employees, in serious cases, breach of the Code of Conduct may lead to dismissal. 
If you become aware of any irregularity or breach of the Code of Conduct, you should inform the CEO, management, your manager or HR. You can use our whistleblowing function via our website to anonymously report serious misconduct. Metos Storkök applies a non-retaliation policy, which means that anyone who draws attention to possible breaches of the Code of Conduct should not be subjected to negative consequences. 

 

Law and rights


Legal requirements
Metos Storkök, Metos Storkök's suppliers and employees must comply with the laws and regulations that apply in the countries where the business is conducted. Should any requirement in the Code of Conduct conflict with national legislation, the law takes precedence.
Metos Storkök and its partners shall comply with applicable labour legislation, including provisions on wages, working hours, leave and social security protection applicable in the country where the work is performed. 

Corruption
Metos Storkök and its partners shall comply with the UN Convention against Corruption. The company shall counteract all forms of corruption including extortion and bribery. Employees must be able to report independence to business relations. 

 

People


Values and principles
Metos Storkök's fundamental values are respect, co-operation and responsibility. We are committed to a safe and pleasant workplace where we act in a professional and friendly manner. We co-operate and care for our fellow human beings and the environment. We follow procedures, directives and established policies to comply with applicable legal requirements. 
We are committed to promoting diversity and inclusion and recognise this as a strength of our work.

Human rights
Metos Storkök is committed to human rights. We expect our partners to comply with the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the ILO's eight core conventions on forced labour, child labour, discrimination and freedom of association and the right to organise. 
Products and services supplied to Metos Storkök must be safe and pose no risk to human health or safety. Unacceptable risks to the environment or human health shall not occur in any part of a product's life cycle - from raw material preparation and production to final disposal.
Metos Storkök expects our partners to comply with Article 32 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. 

Work environment
Metos Storkök and its partners must comply with current health and safety legislation that applies in the country where the work is performed. 
At Metos Storkök we are each other's work environment. All employees must have a safe and healthy working environment, including through good protective equipment and safety procedures known by the employees. Metos Storkök shall ensure that the protective equipment fulfils the requirements set out in national legislation. The employer shall take appropriate measures to prevent workplace accidents and work-related diseases.

Discrimination and equal treatment
We are committed to ensuring that everyone is treated equally and fairly, without discrimination, bullying or harassment of any kind. 
Employees should be treated according to the individual's ability and qualifications to perform the job. Metos Storkök works against discrimination and promotes equal rights and opportunities regardless of gender, gender identity or gender expression, ethnicity, religion or other beliefs, disability, sexual orientation and age. 

Forced labour and disciplinary measures
Employees should be treated with respect and dignity. Forced, involuntary or unpaid labour is not accepted in any form.

Harassment and abuse
Metos Storkök has zero tolerance for harassment and abuse. No form of physical, psychological or sexual violence is tolerated and all employees are expected to create a safe and respectful work environment. 

Child labour
No person may be employed before they have completed compulsory education. They must also not be under the age of 15. Management is responsible for ensuring that the working conditions, working hours and pay of minors authorised to perform certain work are appropriate to their age and that they comply with labour legislation.

Wages and working hours
Wages must be paid regularly, on time and be reasonable in relation to work performance. The statutory minimum wage is the lowest acceptable wage.
Employees' working hours are regulated in relation to the legislation in force. 

Freedom of association
Employees shall have the right to form, join, or refrain from joining organisations that represent their interests as employees. No employee shall be threatened or harassed when peacefully exercising these rights.

Freedom of expression 
We encourage the open and respectful expression of opinions, but we expect this to be done in a way that does not harm others or create a hostile work environment. We encourage everyone to actively participate and contribute to our collective work by sharing their thoughts and opinions.

Personal data and privacy
Metos Storkök protects the privacy of all employees and treats all personal information confidentially and with respect. We comply with current legislation and process personal data in accordance with the GDPR. See Metos Storkök's privacy policy

 

Environment


Metos Storkök and its partners shall comply with applicable environmental legislation in the country where the work is performed. We shall consciously work to reduce or prevent negative consequences on the environment.
